Our vineyards are situated at 700 metres of altitude in soils with marls and limestone. They are the perfect soils for vinegrowing in addition to the arid and sunny continental climate and wide seasonal variation.
Our main and local grape varieties are the red Cencibel/Tempranillo and the White Airén. For many years we have also been growing other varieties such as Macabeo and Verdejo –whites- full of fineness and expressiveness, and the reds Syrah, Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon which are complementaries and enriching in varietal wines or coupages.
The vines and grapes grow healthy with concentrated aromas and flavours thank to this natural environment. For this reason, we can make high quality natural wines. These wines express our terroir and our artisan and innovative vocation.
In the 80s we were the first winery in the region (Castilla-La Mancha) introducing organic vinegrowing and winemaking. Since then, we have always applied our knowledge and experiences to develop our own working method which is environmentally respectful and organically sustainable. We make use of winemaking by-products for fertilisation in order to reduce the carbon footprint.
We choose the best days to work according to the Lunar Calendar, looking for a balanced and quiet metabolism, to avoid signs of plant stress, get rusticity and the capacity to fix aromas and flavours in the grapes and wines.
